About Our Senior Pastor
Dr. Robert C. Moore is the Founding Pastor of New Birth Community Church (NBCC), in Austell, Georgia. NBCC was birthed out of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, in Lithonia, Georgia.
Dr. Moore's life has been influenced by a number of great leaders, whom he has had either the opportunity of personally meeting, or being taught by, incuding his own father, the Late Bishop Benjamin T. Moore, Sr.
Dr. Moore is the second of four children, born in Seattle, WA, to the Late Bishop Benjamin T. Moore & Dr. Willa M. Moore (Stone Mountain, GA.) Robert spent his early childhood years in the Seattle area. He spent his teen years as the church organist & pianist at his father's church, The Bethel Christian Church (Seattle, WA).
While attending Indiana-Purdue Universities, he met the beautiful young, Raquel Allen (Richmond, Indiana) also a graduate of Indiana University, whom would later become his wife. The two were married in January of 1980.
Pastor and First Lady Moore's daughter, Leslie was born in 1981; and their son, Robert Jr. was born in 1988. Leslie has recently completed undergraduate studies at Georgia State University, and has recently began postgraduate studies, and a career with FEMA. Robert Jr. is now in his 2nd year of college at ITT.
During his 12 years in Indianapolis, Robert faithfully served at his father's church as church organist, minister of music, and minister of evangelism. In 1986, he graduated from Martin University (Indianapolis, IN) with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Counseling. Later that same year, he was ordained with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
In 1996, Bishop Long ordained Robert as an Elder at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church; in 1997, he was hired as the full-time Assistant Minister of Pastoral Care at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Moore completed his first year of his post graduate work at Emory University, and is currently a candidate for the Master of Arts & Master of Divinity degrees at Luther Rice Seminary-University (Lithonia, GA). On September 29th, 2008, Pastor Moore became an award recipient at the Gospel Choice Awards, being named as one of the 10 most influential pastors in Atlanta for 2008. In February 2010, he was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from St. Thomas Christian College.
New Birth Kingdom Church held its first service on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at 2060 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, Georgia. Because of the vision of community God had given Pastor Moore, the name was recently changed, to New Birth Community Church in December 2008. New Birth Community Church has grown from 12 members to approximately 350 members, and is now located at 3100 Joe Jerkins Boulevard, Austell, Georgia 30106.
